Functional fitness is an evidence-based method for growing not only strength, but also stability and range of motion in the movements patterns our bodies are built for. Unlike many current fitness trends and competitive lifting, where injuries are common, functional fitness puts injury prevention first and is equally beneficial for both athletes and non-athletes.

Striking skills and principles including combinations of punches, kicks, knees, and elbows, footwork, defense, and endurance (striking is a great cardio workout), drawn primarily from the sports of boxing and Muay Thai kickboxing.

Beginners welcome! Training sessions are tailored to your goals, budget, and specific interests. Choose your focus: strength/fitness, self-defense, or boxing/kickboxing - or choose any two to combine!
You can work 1-on-1 with a trainer, or schedule a small group training for up to three people. To request a group training of 4 or more people, email rachel@empmov.com or call 727-225-2639.
